How's Your Fantasy Life? NPR's Top 100 SF & Fantasy Books

For this summer, NPR asked it's listeners to nominate & vote on their favorite science fiction and fantasy books. They also had the help of a panel of experts to compile the list.

Thanks to Ryan over at Worsmithonia I saw this list and just had to find out how many of these I've read. I agree with him that it would have been nice to do separate lists for each genre. I'm more of a SF fan-girl myself. Lots of good stuff here. Books I've read and loved and books that have been hanging out on the TBR list for a long time. And, yes, Ryan--it's wonderful that no YA &/or horror made the list!

My Tally: 37 books read
Books read are in Red and books hanging out in my TBR piles are in Blue.

I've only read a few of these since I'm a johhny come lately to sci-fi and fantasy. But I am so glad to see SUNSHINE by Robin McKinley on the list. The best vampire book next to DRACULA. In fact, if you dislike vampire books as I do, you'll still like SUNSHINE.

Great to see CRYPTONOMICON by Neal Stephenson on the list as well.
