Saturday Snapshot: Before Things Got Dry & Brown

Saturday Snapshot is a meme hosted by Alyce at At Home with Books. All you have to do is "post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken and then leave a direct link to your post in the Mr. Linky on [her] blog. Photos can be old or new, and be of anything as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give is up to you." All she asks is that you don't just post random photos that you find online. (Click pictures for close-up).

No, I don't want to look at the camera.

Yeah, I meant it.  No publicity shots today
Here are a few pictures that I got of a blue jay hiding in the green leaves of our maple tree.  This is back before everything got so dry and brown from lack of rain.  Hopefully, the rain today (and all weekend, please!) will green things back up again.

Lovely pictures. Are blue jays common where you are? My Snapshot is at http://goo.gl/qCafm

Beautiful photos. Capturing birds like that is hard. I'm not too good at it. It has been very dry. You obviously get the same weather we in SW Ontario, Canada get. I'm hoping for rain too.

Oh, the green leaves are beautiful! I do enjoy greenery...yet it all turns brown so quickly!

Thanks for visiting my blog, and enjoy your weekend.

The blue jay has got to be one of the most beautiful birds anywhere. And these are terrific shots of a rather camera-shy one!

Great pictures of that blue jay! Hope you get some rain soon -- I know how you feel, we didn't get much rain for a long time until this week. It has been nice not having to water my flowers every day for a change.

Even your trees got brown? That's awful. Hope you get some rain soon

Haha, great photos, even if the bird wasn't feeling the model vibe.

At least the Jay stayed still for you even if he wouldn't turn around. It's a nice clear shot and we can see his beautiful coloring.

Love those bird shots. Blue Jays have seemed to disappear from our area.

Aren't they nervy birds? They raid the bird nests around here and kill the baby sparrows and chickadees ... they are such pirate birds!

Ha! Fun photo series. Hope you got some rain! We could use some here, too. Got a few drops, today, but that's not going to do it for us.

Maybe he just wanted to show off the lovely feathers on his back? Good try, anyway.

Blue jays are indeed beautiful birds, how lucky you are to have them visit your yard. Lovely pictures.

That's sad that everything is all brown now! That bluejay is very pretty though.

It really did look lovely.
I hope you get enough rain, I'd gladly send you some of our rain.
